Adoor Bhasi is a South Indian actor and director.

K. Bhaskaran Nair
On 2 March 1927, he was born as K. Bhaskaran Nair in Thiruvananthapuram to E. V. Krishna Pillai and Maheshwari Amma. The actor has four brothers namely the late K. Ramachandran Nair alias Chandraji, K. Padmanabhan Nair, the late K. Sankaran Nair, and the late K. Krishnan Nair. He has two sisters, Rajalakshmi Amma and the late Omana Amma.

The actor finished his schooling from missionary school in Vadakkekottaaram. After his father's death his family moved to  Adoor where he joined the English High School. Later he shifted to his aunt's house in Trivandrum where he did a Diploma in Textile Chemistry from the Institute of Textile Technology.

CAREER
While he was staying with his aunt in Trivandrum he joined theater and also took part in All India Radio dramas. He worked with some famous stage actors like Aranmula Ponnamma,  T. R. Sukumaran Nair, Jagathy N. K. Achary, P. K. Veeraraghavan Nair alias Veeran, Nagavally R. S. Kurup, and Thikkurissy Sukumaran Nair.

Famous playwright T. N. Gopinathan Nair was his friend which helped him enter the film industry.


He made his film debut with P.R.S. Pillai's Thiramala and through Chandrathara's Mudiyanaya Puthran in 1961 he grew famous. Nair's comic roles were highly appreciated. He acted in around 800 films. In Oru Manushyan he played the role of a villain. In both Vilkkanundu and Lankadahanam he played a double role.

In 1974, he received the Kerala State Film Award for Chattakkari. He also won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for John Abraham's Cheriyachante Kroorakrithyangal (1978) and also for April 18 (1983).

DEATH
The actor died on March 29, 1990. Panchayat of a town named Pathanamthitta built his memorial on 12 June 2009.
